Bakuchiol

Bakuchiol is drawn from the seeds of Psoralea corylifolia. It is usually introduced as a plant alternative to retinol, which is a useful shorthand and not quite accurate: it is a different molecule that has been observed to behave similarly in cosmetic use, not a botanical version of the same thing.

What recommends it in a mask is tolerance. Retinol and an occlusive hydrogel worn for twenty minutes are a poor combination for most skin; bakuchiol is not.
