Pearl extract

Perla is Italian for pearl, and the ingredient is not decoration on the name — pearl is largely calcium carbonate with a small fraction of protein, and finely milled it carries minerals and a soft light-scattering quality to the surface of the skin.

It is an old ingredient. It appears in Chinese and Ayurvedic preparations centuries before it appeared in a hydrogel, and that history is worth stating plainly rather than dressed up as a discovery.
