Ceramides

Ceramides are lipids the skin already makes. They sit between skin cells and hold the surface together, and their level falls with age and with cold, dry air — which is the reason they turn up in almost every barrier product on the market.

Putting them back is not novel. Doing it in a bio-cellulose hydrogel, which holds the ingredient against the skin for the length of the treatment rather than letting it dry off, is the part worth paying for.
