The formula

Multi-molecular hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid is not one material. It is a chain that can be made long or cut short, and the length decides where it sits: a long chain stays at the surface and holds water there, a short one travels further into the upper layers before doing the same.

Multi-molecular means more than one chain length in the same formula, which is why the pack names it that way rather than as hyaluronic acid full stop. On the ingredient list it reads as sodium hyaluronate, and in the day mask as hydrolysed sodium hyaluronate beside it — the same material, cut to two sizes.
